Styx fans across the world are joining together to make this happen because we want to give something back to the band that has given us so much joy over the years through their music and live shows.

The application to get Styx a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame went in on Tuesday, May 31.

The announcement is expected soon. Should they be selected, the induction ceremony must be scheduled for some time in the next five years, at the band’s convenience. The most likely time for the induction will be two years from now, when the next studio album is released.

The cost of the star is $15,000, plus we will need to raise about the same amount for related expenses, including a post-ceremony reception.

Getting the Styx name enshrined in stone on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will require the help of the whole Styx fan community. To get the word out about our efforts and to raise the needed funds, we are forming the Styx Street Team. We are looking for volunteers to work on various projects and be part of the team. We will need people to distribute buttons, flyers, and other promotional materials, plus street team members will be able to submit designs in the logo contest, and create fundraising projects of their own.
